Modal is a natural fiber made from Beech Trees, which is an incredibly soft, fresh feeling material has odor resistant and antibacterial properties. Modal fibers are 50% more hygroscopic or water-absorbent than is cotton. It is designed to dye just like cotton, and is color-fast when washed in warm water. Lorpen socks made from Modal do not pill, like cotton does, and are resistant to shrinkage and fading. They are smooth and soft, to the point where mineral deposits from hard water such as lime do not stick to the fabric surface. In the TMCF sock, Lorpen combines the unique Modal fibers with Coolmax FX. Coolmax, of course provides excellent moisture control, wicking qualities. The "FX" feature provides antibacterial, anti-microbial features, thereby eliminating the microbes that cause sock and foot odor.

The Lorpen TMCF sock is excellent for warm and hot weather wear. The medium thickness of the sock makes it perfect for medium terrain hiking, walking and work.
